Be A Dancer

Kia ora

Thank you forĀ so much for considering being a dancer on October 18th. Here’s what you need to know : Do I need to be a great mover? No! We will be “Dancing in the Dark” – with the lights down low. We’ve been practising this for a long time, and we’ve discovered that it’s a highly liberating experience. Not many of us do social dancing these days – and it’s a great way to let go of your inhibitions and let it all go!
Do I need to very fit? No! You can dance/sway/move to the beat as slowly and gently as you like. Some (with mobility challenges) will dance seated.
Do I need to be able to make it to the TSB Showplace on the 18th October? I live overseas / would feel to shy to do that. No! Plenty of people will be raising their sponsorship and then taking part “virtually”, from home. People in that situation, we will send a special factsheet to join our “Livestream” etc.
Do I need to donate, myself? We ask that everyone who registers to be a part of Cathy’s Dance makes an initial “Kickstart Donation” – to honour the kaupapa and to commemorate those lost to us by suicide. Tax payers can get a third back! Some people will start by gathering those funds amongst their workmates and/or friends and whanau, and then come back here and register. Others will make their own donation NOW!
Do I need a credit card to make that donation? No! Online payment to our bank account would be absolutely fine (see below!)
Can I share my fundraising page with friends, whanau and maybe colleagues to get them to donate to this brilliant cause? Glad you asked! DEFINITELY! We’ll set up that page, right after you’ve made your opening donation…. Speaking of which – let’s get on with it!
